CalcLounge is a small studio building free calculators for people who build things — contractors, DIYers, landscapers, and homeowners planning a project.
How our calculators work
Every CalcLounge tool computes from standard construction math: geometric volumes, published material densities, and manufacturer coverage rates. Each calculator page documents the exact formula and assumptions it uses, so you can verify the math yourself.
Where a calculation depends on a judgment call — how much extra to order for waste, how deep a post hole should be in your frost zone — we expose it as an adjustable input with a sensible default, instead of hiding it.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell materials or contracting services.
- We don’t present estimates as quotes — always confirm quantities and prices with your supplier or contractor.
- We don’t require accounts or collect project data.
Accuracy & updates
Material prices move, so cost estimates on this site always depend on the prices you enter. Quantity math is reviewed against standard references, and pages carry a last-updated date. If you spot an error, tell us — we’ll fix it and note the correction.
